ITSM-as-a-Service Solution Changes the IT Infrastructure Game DALLAS — October 13, 2009—CompuCom Systems, Inc., the leading IT outsourcing specialist, today announced the availability of IIMv3™, a fresh approach to delivering IT services. The new solution optimizes a company’s legacy operations to be more cohesive and agile based on an embedded Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL® v3) framework. Through the execution of collaboratively developed transformation roadmaps, CompuCom helps the IT leader reinvent their infrastructure — setting new thresholds for efficiency and business contribution and establishing a lifecycle service management capability.
According to independent research firm, Forrester Research, Inc. “business executives expect IT to deliver both operational efficiency (delivering the services on which the business runs) and business enablement (helping them discover and leverage new ways to advance business strategy with technology)”.1 With CompuCom’s IIMv3, businesses experience decreased operational expenses, sustained quality and innovation, and greater business alignment from their IT infrastructure. Even more, the business gains the flexibility to properly and effectively leverage alternative delivery models and cloud-based services.
“Because IT needs to be a strategic element of the business, it is critical that organizations look forward and chart where they are headed and what will be required,” said Ed Anderson, Chief Strategy Officer at CompuCom. “By blending business strategy and culture with optimized delivery of services, we can drive greater performance and alignment. IIMv3 paves a road for increased innovation, quality and exceptional value.”
Capitalizing on CompuCom’s experience with ITIL and knowledge gained from managing the operational lifecycles of more than 4 million IT assets, IIMv3 bundles the following four functions:
- An adaptive client integration process that looks beyond IT’s traditional people, process and technology core tenets to also recognize partners and the client’s culture for better alignment of IT to business strategy.
- A next-generation ITSM platform comprised of the latest ITSM application, predefined best practice processes based on the ITILv3 library, and a dedicated support staff to customize and manage service specifics on the client’s behalf. Delivered as SaaS and Web 2.0 architecture, clients realize significant immediate savings in investment and support costs.
- A suite of optimized infrastructure services that bring integrated toolsets, cross-functional processes, and subject matter specialists across service desk, end user computing, server, storage, network, application, and data center domains.
- A results-driven program management office (PMO) that governs service management and service levels while promoting process and technology maturity via a cooperatively developed Transformation Roadmap.
Early adopters of the solution are engaging through CompuCom’s quarterly business review process, alternative proposals as part of an RFP process, and participation in the CompuCom Challenge or on-site workshops.
CompuCom, a platinum-level sponsor of Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, will highlight IIMv3 next week while exhibiting in booth #517 from October 18-22. The conference theme focuses on balancing cost, risk and growth, making it an ideal forum in which to discuss CompuCom’s new approach. Additionally, CompuCom and Service-now.com will co-host a webinar on November 12th to further describe how these two leading organizations are changing the game in IT service management.
