CompuCom Rated “Positive” in Leading Analyst Firm’s MarketScope for
Hosted Virtual Desktop Services
DALLAS — June 16, 2010 — CompuCom Systems, Inc., the leading IT outsourcing specialist, is rated “Positive” by Gartner in the 2010 “MarketScope for Hosted Virtual Desktop Services.” Gartner conducted this study of the emerging hosted virtual desktop services (HVDS) market to identify and evaluate the offers and capabilities of potential suppliers.
HVDS is an emerging cloud computing model that virtualizes the user’s application and business systems. The services manage part or all of client’s computing hardware, software and support and are priced on a periodic and per-user scalable basis. Users experience a unified service that provides the required capabilities and technologies to connect them to the businesses systems rather than a collection of products and point solutions. The goal of HVDS is to provide equivalent client computing capabilities at less cost to the business.
CompuCom was one of nine vendors evaluated in the report who demonstrated significant delivery and provisioning of HVDS.
